Sun Tree Mechanical Theatre

(24”W x 27”H x 7”D) Metal, Douglas Fir, Alaskan Yellow Cedar, Pear Tree Branch, Milk Paint

Sun Tree has an Anjou Pear handle with an old skeleton key through it. When not in use the handle hangs on a hook mounted on the side of the piece. The “cloud door” that covers either half of the display space, pivots when the handle is rotated. A lead filled counterweight keeps the drive chain taut. The Pear branch tree has carved planets, leaves, and a sun. This was one of those tricky designs that I was not sure it would work until I actually had it assembled. It works great.
